There has been a survey going around regarding a virtual arcade for your Xbox Avatar. The survey asked “Which of the following names would most compel you to purchase this product”, giving you the chance to pick a name. Some of the options included “Classics Live”, “Tower of ROM”, “Game Room” and “Retrocade”.

The whole thing sounds quite like the Playstation’s arcade spaces, however by the sounds of the question on the survey – Xbox want us to PAY for it. I’ll hold judgement until I see what’s in the arcade and how much they expect us to hand over.

I wonder if you can win some Xbox Avatar Awards in a virtual claw machine, or win Microsoft points from a virtual slot machine :D

At the Microsoft’s Open House annual event in NYC, the president of Microsoft’s entertainment division, Robbie Back, claimed that there have been over 150 million Xbox avatar clothing changes! With an estimated 20 million users, that’s an average of 7 or 8 changes per user.

I imagine that as soon as more Xbox Avatar Awards are released this figure will rocket as people try out all their freshly unlocked Xbox Avatar Awards.

You can view a video below of a few avatars playing along to the in game tracks. I havent got this game yet as Im not a massive music game fan, but its good to see that the game writers are now allowing you to use your avatar in the game.

No games for your avatar yet, but we do have Xbox avatar cheats, tips and hidden secrets.

Now you might wonder what sort of xbox avatar cheats we could possibly have, especially when there are no xbox avatar games yet.

Well there are a few secrets and xbox avatar tips at the minute which can give you a bit of fun messing around with your avatar.

Firstly, you can unlock a massive selection of coloured funky hair for your avatar. To do this you simply need to do is go to the “Change My Features” part of the Avatar customisation section, select the “hairstyles” section in the “My Features area, but DO NOT click on it. Wait for 1 minute, and as if by magic the hairstyles tile will spin around and you will not have loads of new hair colours!

The other xbox avatar cheats arent as good, more like little tips and tricks for fun things to do with your avatar. By pressing certain buttons on your Xbox control pad, you can make your avatar do all sorts of things from laughing and burping, through to spinning around, or even smacking its head into the screen!

Microsoft recently awarded its users with a face lift for xbox.com. While there wasnt any announced changes, and there arent any major changes we can see, the layout and design of the site has changed a bit to make it fit more with the NXE.

The main page on the Xbox site now shows your own Avatar, and also your friends Avatars. If you click on one of your friends Avatars you will get a pop up which will allow you to do a few things like sending a message to them, or having a look at their gamerscore.

As we mentioned there arent any massive changes, but we weren’t expecting anything, and what has been done is a major improvement. Why not go and take a look yourself.

A few weeks ago a video of Avatars having a game of golf appeared on youtube. Now the game wont win any awards for graphics or special effects, but it does look like it could be fun. At E3, Microsoft announced that they would be releasing a free XBLA game called Joyride, a fun racing game for your avatar so it is perfectly possible that they are releasing a golfing game.

The video shows some Avatars awarding themselves with a round of golf, but the game still looks like its in early development stages. There is also a possibility that it isnt a new game, but possibly an update for 3D Ultra Minigolf. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Not happy with locking your avatar up inside your xbox? Well now Microsoft has awarded everyone with a simple online application, which lets you create images using your avatar. This feature has been available for a while to the UK visitors to Xbox.com but has only recently been relaunched, now allowing everyone access to free their avatars!

The relaunch also brought with it a whole range of new backgrounds and props, covering most occasions including party background, and hats and balloons for you to add to the picture. As well as the range of new items, you are now able to upload your own backgrounds, so if you want to award your avatar with a Holiday abroad, simply upload one of your holiday pics and there they are, or if you want to put them into a scene from your favourite film, just find an image, upload it and is if by magic, your avatar is in the film!
