Halloween is just around the corner, and it looks like Microsoft is keen for you to get your Xbox Avatars joined in with the festive period.
They have just released 26 new Halloween themed costumes and props for your Xbox Avatar, ranging from a crown and princess costume (WTF??), through to a Werewolf Costume and even a Cauldron Prop.
All sounds good, until you look at the prices! Looks like Microsoft is playing more of a Trick than a Treat this year, with complete costumes coming in at 240 points, props at 240 points, and hats at 80 points!
Ok guys, we have just put the beta version of the forum live. You can go to the Xbox forum by clicking here, or going to http://forum.xboxavatarawards.com
We have created a few categories, but if you think of anything that isnt covered just post in the feedback and suggestions category, or post here and we will update the forum.
The forum is just the first of a few changes going on here at Xbox Avatar Awards pver the next week or so. We will be re-styling certain sections of the Xbox Avatar Awards main site, hopefully getting the forum up and running properly and also get an arcade for the webite, so please bear with us while we make these changes if you notice any errors or problems with the site.
Rob Bowling from Infinity Ward, the makers of Modern Warfare 2 has confirmed that there WILL be some Modern Warfare Avatar items. In one of his tweets, he announced, “Not sure we’ll be doing any Avatar rewards, but we are making avatar items. With some free ones hopefully.”
So it doesnt look like we will be getting any Xbox Avatar Awards, but instead be given the items for FREE!!! Lets just hope they dont go back on it and try and charge us.
Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is due out on the 10th November – I guess we will have to wait and see…
Hi All,
We are looking at adding either a forum, or an arcade (or both) to Xbox Avatar Awards. We just wanted to get a bit of feedback, see if you guys would be interested or not.
The Xbox Avatar Awards forum would give you a forum where you could discuss whatever you wanted, and would be more of a general Xbox forum rather than a specific Xbox Avatar Awards forum.
The arcade would be a few flash games for you to play (probably about 100 or so to start off with).
Let us know what you think, and if you have any ideas for sections on the forum, or any games you would like to see in the arcade.
XboxAvatarAwards is a part of the Video Gamer Network.
There has been a survey going around regarding a virtual arcade for your Xbox Avatar. The survey asked “Which of the following names would most compel you to purchase this product”, giving you the chance to pick a name. Some of the options included “Classics Live”, “Tower of ROM”, “Game Room” and “Retrocade”.
The whole thing sounds quite like the Playstation’s arcade spaces, however by the sounds of the question on the survey – Xbox want us to PAY for it. I’ll hold judgement until I see what’s in the arcade and how much they expect us to hand over.
I wonder if you can win some Xbox Avatar Awards in a virtual claw machine, or win Microsoft points from a virtual slot machine
At the Microsoft’s Open House annual event in NYC, the president of Microsoft’s entertainment division, Robbie Back, claimed that there have been over 150 million Xbox avatar clothing changes! With an estimated 20 million users, that’s an average of 7 or 8 changes per user.
I imagine that as soon as more Xbox Avatar Awards are released this figure will rocket as people try out all their freshly unlocked Xbox Avatar Awards.
Microsoft have just released a few more Xbox Avatar goodies, this time for Mass Effect. It seems that they are releasing quite a few paid Avatar items at the minute, but theres not much news on the Xbox Avatar Awards front :
Current list of games with paid Avatar downloads below:
Bioshock 2
Fable II
Forza Motorsport 3
Gears Of War 2
Guitar Hero 8
Halo 3
Halo 3: ODST
Mass Effect
Monkey Island: SE
SWTCW: Republic Heroes
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction
Hopefully with the new games coming out for the christmas period we will see a few more Xbox Avatar Awards coming out.
